Geography

A G.C.S.E. course is offered. Your Geography teacher can give further details, however a brief outline of the course is as follows :

(1) NEAB G.C.S.E. Syllabus B

This syllabus is essentially place specific, Geographical Studies include the following areas.

a) The United Kingdom - The Lake District, East Anglia, The M4 Corridor.

b) The European Union - Southern Italy, Mediterranean Spain,

Urban Core - Choice between Rotterdam/Rhine/Paris/European

c) The Wider World - Amazonia, River Ganges Delta, Japan.

d) Global Issues - Population Growth and Urbanisation, Trade and Aid,

Global Warming

Through these place studies a number of themes are studied such as Physical Geography, Economic Activity, Transport Trade, Population/Settlement and Environmental Issues.

The assessment for this syllabus consists of three components.

2 written examinations; 1 piece of coursework (fieldwork)

The written examinations are divided into two levels :

Higher Level and Foundation Level
