Key Stage 4
ICT qualifications are an essential requirement for a successful career and a necessity in the 21st century. In years 10 & 11 all pupils will experience all parts of the ICT National Curriculum and study towards an ICT OCR Nationals Level 2 qualification. However, pupils can opt to study towards either;
- OCR First Award - equivalent to 1 GCSE C+
- OCR Award - equivalent to 2 GCSE's CC+
- OCR Certificate (full award) - equivalent to 4 GCSE's CCCC+
This course has been developed to recognise learners skills, knowledge and understanding of Information and Communication Technology functions, environments and operations. Pupils carry out a range of tasks that have been designed to recognise their achievements in a modern, practical way that is relevant to the workplace. Pupils will further develop their skills accomplished at KS3 plus develop skills in web authoring, graphics, movie making and animation. There is no examination as the coursework portfolio contributes towards 100% of the overall mark.
